Marie Antoinette – not only a fashion icon but a lavish hostess who spared no expense when it came to her guest and their fun. Sometimes don’t you want to fill your house with a multitude of candles, sparkling crystal and dance till dawn? Who wouldn’t? The Ladies in Waiting plates are such a fun reminder of the experimental period in costume and hair and the “eat cake” print is just so fun. There are so many styles of the ‘ keep calm’ now! With fall quickly approaching (say it isn’t so) these finds remind me of the changing color of trees. There are TONS of online tutorials so go get your dye on. I’m thinking napkins, towels, pillows – anything that is standing still basically. This means that my fam might be getting some handmade gifts this year.

The neural colors of this room really let the blue ocean shine through. The different hues and textures of the wood really give it depth. And of course you need a pile of fresh fruit to keep your energy up. Great job.

What a cool, fun room. Lots of bright colors to keep the energy going. The flooring is one of my favorite touches. Of course you need a supply of surf boards if you are living on the beach.

Blue like the ocean, white like the clouds. This room is so chic.  I love the addition on the different throw pillows and the dark brown of the chairs really gives it elegance.

Simple, fresh and clean. Great use of the different hues of blue with pops of ruby-red pillows.  I love that there are a lot of different sitting areas. Great for entertaining.

I simply had to share this amazing interior with you. Natural light flooding in. You almost miss the random array of furniture because your eyes float towards the ceiling.

I love planning details for parties! The real challenge of a big holiday is not to go over the top with matching the decor. It needs to give the vibe without hitting you over the head. That’s why I am loving this bandanna inspired table setting. It so reminds me of classic Americana  as does the gingham cupcake liners. Subtle but patriotic at the same time. The metallic star plates are just to fun to pass up! What do you like to focus on when you are party planning?

Get creative with some red and blue bowls and have everything set out nicely when guests are ready to get their fingers sticky. I love the use of the old wash tub and some untraditional add-ons.

Don’t you just adore this house by architect by Matt Gibson. With the use of lighting, materials and nature he really draws you into the space. Lines are continuous. Ones eye is really drawn more to the structure to the carefully placed beautiful decor. The balance of outside to inside is seamless. I am really loving the mixture of rustic and modern.

The outside area is the icing on the cake. The recessed under bench lighting really gives a new dynamic to the space. Super sexy yet simple. Lighting really makes or breaks the room.
