Bandanna attack

I love planning details for parties! The real challenge of a big holiday is not to go over the top with matching the decor. It needs to give the vibe without hitting you over the head. That’s why I am loving this bandanna inspired table setting. It so reminds me of classic Americana  as does the gingham cupcake liners. Subtle but patriotic at the same time. The metallic star plates are just to fun to pass up! What do you like to focus on when you are party planning?

Pink and Gold

Is it really the last day of January? As Valentines day fast approaches I wanted to give a nod to some romantic dinner tables that will no doubt be in flourish next month.

Isn’t this so romantic?  Any table setting for a romantic dinner for two doesn’t need anything else but lots and lots of flowers (in my opinion)

Check out our new contest and giveaway. It’s all about Pink and Gold

BFF to the Coffee Table

One can never have to many coffee table books. What’s not to love about them? They are great conversation starters, instant couch potato inspiration and all niches are covered.

Things I look for in the books:

  • Eye catching Cover
  • At least 12″ long
  • Variety of topics- Nature, Art, Fashion
  • Ode to your favorite city

Furniture History: Coffee Tables were introduced during the Victorian Era (late 1800’s) with the decline of sateens and the rise of low back sofas. Since there arrival they have become a staple piece in anyones living room.

Details

After the wonderful extended weekend of catching up with friends has inspired me to throw a fancy dinner party. Everyone being  so busy  a perfectly planned event is just the ticket to get us all together in one space for more than a minute. The key to an amazing design is all in the details.

Take control of your seating by making cute and unique place cards. Do a little friend match making if you are mixing groups. Think of common interests between friends that would spark good conversation. Split those couples up! They had all day to discuss house hold matters.

Mix up colors with striped table cloths and colorful blooms for a modern spin. Your guest will be so impressed ( I hope mine will be!)
