Rain boots and Flowers

With Spring quickly approaching beautiful blooms are popping up everywhere. Even if it’s not on the trees themselves, I’m finding it more important to have fresh flowers in my house to cheer me out of the winter blues. I love the idea of using an old pair of rain boots for a vase or even a planter ( if you drill holes in the bottom). What do you think?

Mint of my eye

I’m kind of really digging this kitchen at the moment. The cool color palate of mint and white has a great balance with the harsh chrome fixtures and rustic brick. To add a little more whimsy to the space here are some of my favorite little items found around web. Click to view 1, 2, 3

Onion Egg

Egg dying is serious business. It’s such a messy hands on craft that is hours of entertainment.

Absolute needed supplies

  • Straws for dripping
  • Rubber Bands for wrapping
  • Feathers for gluing
  • Sharpies for extra detail
  • Toothbrush for speckling
Or try this new-to-me way to  natural color your eggs with onions!
Take onion skins and one teaspoon of vinegar to boil and simmer for 15 mins. Strain skins.
While boiling take a walk and find some interesting leaves or flowers to press on your egg. Wrap in cheese cloth and close with a twist tie.  Cook eggs as you normally would!
So pretty!
